BLS Provider Course Information

BLS Provider

Replaces BLS for Healthcare Providers New &  Renewal


This course is for Healthcare Professionals, who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

This course is often required by many hospitals or schools related to the medical field. Individuals such as nursing students, EMT students, PA students and others will very likely be required to be certified in BLS before or during school sessions. Although this course is designed for healthcare providers, the general public is welcomed to take the course.

 



 

Bloodborne Pathogens (online or classroom)

Teach employees how bloodborne pathogens are spread and how to help prevent exposure incidents by following work practice controls. Topics include engineering controls, personal protective equipment, personal hygiene cleaning/disinfecting equipment and supplies, and recognizing, reporting and following up on employee exposures to infectious materials.

 


 


ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

This course is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine,intensive care and critical care units. The instructor in this course will highlight the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

 
 
 
 
 

 


Heartsaver CPR/AED

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs to know how to perform CPR or to obtain a certificate for CPR to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. This course is highly recommended for daycare workers, school teachers, security personnel, summer camp workers, baby sitters and construction workers. This course is NOT designed for healthcare providers.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

Childcare staff may need to complete the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course to meet state requirement.


Heartsaver CPR AED and Adult First Aid

This course teaches:
1. Adult First aid basics
2. Medical emergencies
3. Adult/child CPR with mask
4. Adult/child choking
5. Adult/child AED use
