BLS Provider (BLS for Healthcare Providers)


          Features
 
                  The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening 
           emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations
           and provide early use of an AED.


           In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and
           learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills
           practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

           ECC
         • Instructor-led, hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency
         • Emphasis on high-quality CPR including a team dynamics classroom activity
         • Video-based course with real world scenarios

The AHA’s new BLS Course has been updated to include science and education from the 2015 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

Course Content

• The importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
• All of the steps of the Chain of Survival and apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival
• Recognize the signs of someone needing CPR
• Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants
• The importance of early use of an AED and demonstrate its use
• Provide effective ventilations by using a barrier device
• The importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and perform as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
• The technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

  5. Complete all required information on the enrollment Personal Information form. (Do not click on the Company Member Login button. This is for industrial accounts only!) Just complete the form and click on "Complete Registration" to submit.

  6. Be sure to provide a good email address that you check on a regular basis. (Your instructor will make contact with you using your provided email address).

We will only cancel a class for weather related reasons. Even if only one student is enrolled in class it will be held!

The American Heart Association has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

The American Heart Association is authorized by IACET to offer .4 CEUs for this program.


BLS Provider Course

 
BLS Provider Class:  Replaces BLS for Healthcare Providers Course in 2016.

BLS Provider: Instructor-Led Training (Replaces BLS for   Healthcare Providers) Note: This is an "All classroom course". Does not include online course
completion.

The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate
ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

The BLS (Instructor Led) Course is approximately 4 1/2 hours long including
all required lessons, if taught using the recommended Instructor-to-student
ratio of 1 Instructor to 6 students.

In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical
scenarios an learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a
written exam.

BLS Provider Renewal Class: 
Instructor-Led Training (Replaces
BLS for
Healthcare Providers Renewal) Note: This is an "All classroom
course". Does not include online course completion. This course requires completion of the BLS course previously.


The AHA has added a BLS Renewal Course option for BLS providers to
complete BLS training and receive a BLS Provider course completion
card. The BLS Renewal Course is a video-based, ILT course that features
accelerated content. It is designed specifically for providers with a
current BLS Provider course completion card and allows for time
efficiency while teaching both single-rescuer and team basic life
support skills in both in-facility and pre-hospital settings.


Instructor-Led Training (Replaces BLS for Healthcare Providers) Note: This
is an "All classroom course". Does not include or require online course
completion.

• The accelerated HeartCode BLS Competency Course is only intended for providers who are experienced in the skills of basic life support, are renewing their AHA BLS course completion card, and have successfully completed the online portion of HeartCode BLS.


• Use of a feedback device or manikin is required for the accelerated HeartCode BLS Competency Course to ensure high-quality CPR with the direct assessment of a student’s performance of skills.

Purchase of a course is a NON-REFUNDABLE ticket but may be rescheduled within 14 days from purchase at no additional charge.


If you are unable to attend your scheduled class you may reschedule within 14 days, without additional charge,  if you give us notice prior to the day of the class!  IMPORTANT: If you are unable to reschedule your class you may request a partial refund within 14 days. The normal fee is $20.00 plus 10% processing fee, shipping fees and manual fee if applicable. Your request for a refund must be sent to your instructor within 14 days of your class date.
  Note: If you choose not to pre-pay for your class you may pay onsite at an increased cost of $10.00.
